چکیده

It is known that sequential signal detection based on the sequential probability ratio test (SPRT) is the shortest on an average among other tests. Most of the work in sequential signal detection assumes independent, identically distributed noise. The decision thresholds are not exact. This is due to the complexity involved in doing an exact analysis of the sequential detector. In this paper, we propose a sequential sign detector for detecting constant signals in first order Markov noise. The distribution of the sufficient statistic is derived as a solution to the discrete diffusion equations. This leads to the derivation of the exact values of the decision thresholds and the average sample number.

Numerical Algorithms and Issues Concerning the Discrete-Time Optimal Projection Equations

The discrete-time optimal projection equations, which constitute necessary conditions for optimal reducedorder LQG compensation, are strengthened. For the class of minimal stabilizing compensators the strengthened discrete-time optimal projection equations are proved to be equivalent tofirst-order necessary optimality conditionsfor optimal reduced-order LQG compensation. The conventional discre...

Optimizing the Diffusion System Based on Continuous-Time Consensus Algorithm

Traditionally, systems governed by linear Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) are spatially discretized to exploit their algebraic structure and reduce the computational effort for controlling them. Due to beneficial insights of the PDEs, recently, the reverse of this approach is implemented where a spatially-discrete system is approximated by a spatially-continuous one, governed by linear PD...

Numerical algorithm for discrete barrier option pricing in a Black-Scholes model with stationary process

In this article, we propose a numerical algorithm for computing price of discrete single and double barrier option under the emph{Black-Scholes} model. In virtue of some general transformations, the partial differential equations of option pricing in different monitoring dates are converted into simple diffusion equations. The present method is fast compared to alterna...

Numerical Algorithms and Issues concerning the Discrete-time Optimal Projection Equations for Systems with White Parameters

The discrete-time optimal projection equations for systems with white parameters are strengthened. For the class of minimal ms (mean square) stabilizing compensators the strengthened discrete-time optimal projection equations are proved to be equivalent to first-order necessary optimality conditions for optimal reduced-order dynamic compensation of systems with white parameters. The conventiona...
